Innovative Marine Designs - Ryan, Owner

Hi, I’m Ryan.

I’m the owner of Innovative Marine Designs. I love being on the water and boating is one of my passions. I’m always trying to come up with different ways to make boating even more enjoyable – and that’s exactly where Innovative Marine Designs comes into play.

FROM CONCEPT TO REALITY

The idea for Innovative Marine Solutions (specifically, the dock steps) came to me one evening after a long day on the water.

I forgot my wallet in the boat and had to jump back in from the dock. There was no easy way to do that without letting the boat lift down. For years, I’ve been hurling myself into the boat, and then jumping back out. It was only a matter of time, until I wasn’t going to be successful in my adventures.

I had looked at different styles of boat steps but they were always so bulky and in the way of our normal egress. I wanted something that could be used to easily get in and out of the boat and not take up a lot of space. Not to mention, I needed it to look cool.

That next week, I built our first model ever out of wood – just to get the shape, size and idea together. After all, I am a carpenter by trade. Soon after, we were back at the lake and started using the wood version. Immediately, I knew this was the way to go. It was sleek, out of the way and super easy to use. The only problem, it didn’t look cool. How did we solve that? The final pieces are made of aluminum (rust-free) and powder coated!

After weeks of manufacturing, some small changes to the design and making some great partnerships to help get everything pulled together, Innovative Marine Designs is up and running! We are currently patent pending as of March 2022.

There is no place better than being on the water with friends and family. I hope everyone can enjoy their set of Innovative Marine Designs steps, and allow them to access their boats with ease, and most importantly, safely while it is on the lift in the dock.
